Built for your success. Everything we do in University Housing is to ensure the success of our residents, our guests, our customers, and our employees in their experience on this campus and beyond. Whether we’re launching new academic support services, testing out a new recipe, renovating resident rooms, organizing welcome events, inviting a new summer youth camp, cleaning our facilities, or training our staff on new work skills, it’s all done to serve you and to support the mission of UW-Madison.
The Division of University Housing operates nineteen residence halls across the UW-Madison campus, providing a home to over 7,400 undergraduate students. We also operate three apartment communities, serving about 3,000 graduate students, students with families, postdoctoral researchers, academic staff, and faculty. In addition, we manage seven dining locations around campus, and we provide housing throughout the summer for conference groups and youth camps.
As a division reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, our role is to enhance the University of Wisconsin-Madison experience. Students at UW-Madison are never required to live on campus or dine in our facilities, so we are constantly striving to provide the best service and environment at reasonable rates, and we are proud to be the choice of thousands of Badgers every year.
Private, off-campus housing is managed separately by the office of Campus Area Housing.
Be the place where everyone wants to live.
