We are lucky to have unique community gardens adjacent to Eagle Heights and University Houses. As some of the oldest community gardens in the United States, they offer an opportunity for residents to enjoy the outdoors, meet neighbors, and grow vegetables and flowers. Organic and non-organic garden plots rent for a small fee, which finances the operation of the gardens. A committee of volunteer gardeners manages the garden operations and new members are always welcome. Community members can also visit the garden’s blog for announcements, gardening tips and photos.
The gardens were founded in 1962 as a way to provide residents with fresh vegetables and food.
Community members can reserve a space on the garden’s website. You will need to fill out a plot application form and mail it along with the garden fee to the address listed below.
