Summer Amenities

Cable, data jacks and wireless Internet are in every resident room. Laundry facilities and vending and ice machines are located in most buildings. Guests can watch TV or socialize in our comfortable lounges. For the comfort of all guests, all campus buildings are smoke-free. Actual bed linens supplied are based on your program’s linen plan, as well as the specific residence hall.

Housekeeping

Room service and linen service are available to suit a variety of guest needs and budgets. Adult group rates typically include daily room service to refresh towels, make beds, and empty trash. For youth groups, we offer more economical packages with varying degrees of room service.

Each Guest Room Includes

What to Bring

When you think about your visit, we encourage you to daydream about those lake views or that Babcock ice cream. So, to help with the details, we’ve compiled a starter list on what to pack.

  • Alarm clock (provided in Chadbourne and Ogg)
  • Bathrobe, slippers/flip-flops
  • Ethernet cable of 15-20 ft.
  • Padlock (locking dresser drawer in most halls)
  • Cell phone
  • Toiletries and shower tote/bag (to carry items)
  • Towels, washcloth, soap (provided for most adult conferences)
  • Umbrella
  • Water bottle

Desk Services & Computer Access

Our desk services are available as a great resource for all things Housing and Madison. Desk hours vary based on the residence hall. For information on what you can rent or buy from the desk and for specific hour information, please see our desk services page.

If you bring your own computer, you can connect to the Internet through wireless access at no additional charge. For instructions regarding wired Internet service connection, please see our WiFi & Cable Guide.

tech center, which provides both PC and Mac computers, is available in some residence halls. Conference group coordinators can schedule classroom hours or 24-hour access.

Televisions & Telephones

There are lounges with televisions throughout the residence halls. Guest rooms are cable-ready. For guests who bring their own television and coaxial cable, cable television service is provided at no additional charge. Guests room and common areas do not have telephones. We recommend you bring your own cell phone.

When planning a summer conference or program, ask about eligibility and possible services for special needs for enrolled students with the McBurney Disability Resource Center at 608-263-2741 or 608-263-6393 (TTY/TDD) or visit www.mcburney.wisc.edu.

The conference/program planner should submit to the Division of University Housing in writing the special summer residence hall and dining accommodations needed by March 1.
