Your SOAR stay in University Housing is campus’ recommended way to introduce you and your parents/guests to the helpful resources and wonderful experiences that await you at UW-Madison. Staying with other families builds networks and opportunities to socialize and learn together.
Light snacks will be provided in the evenings in your residence hall lobby or floor den. You may also check out a game from the hall desk and enjoy some social time before resting up for the next day’s SOAR activities.
University Housing staffs the SOAR residence hall with student desk staff and House Fellows. These student employees are excellent resources. House Fellows are also on-call over night in case any urgent needs arise.
By the time you move in, you’ll already have an idea what residence hall life is like and how your House Fellow is a helpful resource. You can also meet other students whom you can stay in touch with throughout your time at UW-Madison. Establish traditions and connections to make Madison your home, not just your school.
