MORE ABOUT RIVERS

Rivers Solomon writes about life in the margins, where fae is much at home. Faer debut novel, An Unkindness of Ghosts, a Stonewall Honor List pick and a winner of the Firecracker Award for independently published fiction, was a finalist for a Hurston/Wright, Locus, and Lambda. Faer novella The Deep, based on the Hugo-nominated song by experimental hip-hop group, won a Lambda award and was nominated for a Nebula, a Hugo, a World Fantasy, and a Locus.

 

The audio performance of the book, narrated by Daveed Diggs, won an Audie. Solomon’s next book, Sorrowland, is forthcoming 2021 from MCD Books, about a young woman who begins to transform monstrously after escaping the isolated religious compound where she was raised. Faer essays and short stories appear in Guernica, the New York Times, Best American Stories, and elsewhere.

Raised on Turtle Island between so-called California, Indiana, Texas, and New York, Solomon currently resides with faer family on the gray isle off the western coast of the Eurasian continent known as England.
