The Road Home Speaker & Turning Red (2022) Movie Night

This event has passed.

University Apartments Community Center - Large Gymnasium
@ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Throughout the month of July, we are focusing on sharing kindness in the University Apartments community in our very own Kindness Campaign. With the help of the UA residents, our goal is to build a kindness definition for all the members of UA to follow, share ideas on how we can uphold our goals and expectations, and give back to the Madison community. To support the greater Madison area, we will host a school supplies drive – starting Friday, July 7th until Thursday, July 20th – to donate to The Road Home, a program that assists homeless families with finding long-term housing. A representative from The Road Home will speak with residents on Friday, July 7th at 6:15pm to present some more information on who The Road Home is and what they do. Some suggestions for supplies include backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, coloring items, and highlighters suitable for students from grade school to high school. If you are unable to donate items, please spread the word to friends, other family members, coworkers, and neighbors. This is an excellent cause to support, and we want to lend as many hands as we can!

Following The Road Home speaker, we want to welcome all families to watch Turning Red at the Community Center large gym at 6:30pm. Synopsis: A thirteen-year-old girl is torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the changes of adolescence. And as if the challenges were not enough, whenever she gets overly excited she transforms into a giant red panda.
