May 2011 – August 2011
Adams Residence Hall, constructed in 1926, received significant updates in 2011-2013. Extensive upgrades included new windows, electrical, renovated common bathrooms, new resident room furniture, and upgraded flooring. By August 2011, Adams Hall had a brand-new kitchen and improved heating system. The heating system improved resident room heat controls, and has saved significant amounts of energy. The new kitchen, located in the lower level of Ochsner House, featured new appliances and various other features. Periodic renovations of historic Adams Residence Hall continued in 2013 with a completely new gatehouse in front of the building. Previously used as residence life staff offices and a front desk, the gatehouse spaces were completely gutted; following the office space transition to the newly renovated lower level of Carson Gulley Center. The gatehouses were then updated and continue to feature high-definition flat panel TVs, tables and chairs, and full kitchens. The new kitchen/lounge gives Adams and Tripp residents/summer guests much needed additional common space in centrally located areas.
