Why am I having trouble logging in?

Our system currently requires you to use your UW-Madison student NetID to identify you and link your student account information with our room reservation portal.

If you attempt to create your own account or use the sign-in fields for the reservation portal you will be prompted to log-out and sign-in using the red “UWMadison Student SSO Login” button at the bottom of the Login screen.

If you need help remembering your NetID or password please consult NetID login service.

What if I only want to stay for one night?

Please be sure to select your check-in and check-out dates in the date selection tool before choosing a room to ensure your stay is for the number of nights you require.

To accommodate out-of-state and those traveling far distances our rooms are available for early check-in and late departure dates. You may select the available date ranges that work with your travel plans. If you intend to only stay for one evening, you may do so during the room selection process.

Do I need to know my SOAR session before booking a room?

Yes. You will need your CFYE SOAR dates that you registered for before booking your room.

Our Housing room reservation sessions are modeled on the SOAR session dates. Please be sure to select the same block number and dates as your CFYE SOAR session for your room reservation.

Where do I purchase long-term parking?

If you plan to drive to campus, you should have indicated a need for a parking space during the CFYE SOAR reservation process. If you requested parking, your gate code and parking instructions will be enclosed in your CFYE confirmation packet.

Summer SOAR guests without reserved parking: If you did not reserve a parking space and anticipate needing to park on campus, a list of available lots with real-time vacant stall counts can be found on Visitor Parking Availability website or map.wisc.edu (click Public Parking box to see lot locations and availability). Parking costs $15 a day; you can pull a ticket when you enter the lot and pay when you leave.

Roommates & Families

Similar to a hotel, students will select an occupancy room that matches their need (single, double or triple). The occupancy is the limit of people that can stay in the room overnight. Double occupancy spaces include two twin size beds. Triple occupancy spaces include a twin size bed and twin size bunk beds. View detailed descriptions and photos of  Lowell Center room types.

Roommates

If students would like to room together, one student will need to register for the room, and thus be billed for it. The other student would be listed as a guest in the room.

Families

Family members, guests, and siblings may also stay in the residence hall as well during SOAR. During the student room selection process, once the student selects a double or triple, they will be prompted to enter the name(s) of the family member/guest to complete registration.

Can my parent or guest stay with me in my room?

Yes. During the reservation process, in the first drop-down menu select the rooming option that indicates one guest will be staying with you in your room.

Select your room and you will be prompted to provide your guest’s name, contact information, and email address in the checkout process.

Can I room with another incoming student that I already know?

Yes, you can room with another student that you already know. One of you will need to make the reservation and select either a double or triple. They system will then ask for the other student’s name. The student that reserves the space will be the one that is billed for the room.

We suggest working together to figure out how to split payment outside the system.

Payment

SOAR Housing fees will be applied to your student fall tuition and housing account balance and can be viewed in MyUW once posted this fall.

If you qualify for financial assistance, your SOAR fees and Housing room may be waived, which would be reflected at check-out during the online reservation process. If you have questions regarding financial aid, please contact the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.
