University Apartments offices receive many reports of missing mail/parcels and packages being left in a parcel locker or a mail room. Please know University Apartments does not have a mail room. All mail, packages, and parcels are delivered directly to your apartments. Depending on the courier, packages are delivered by the following:
USPS (United States Postal Service): will leave packages in your personal mailbox, the parcel boxes or in front of your apartment door (these deliveries are all related to size). If your post person leaves a package for you in the parcel locker (large boxes beneath the apartment mailboxes), a parcel locker key will be left in your individual mailbox to unlock the parcel box. Once opened, the key will auto-lock inside and you may remove your package(s).
Parcel lockers and keys are only issued for one resident at a time, therefore you are encouraged to remove your packages as quickly as possible to allow for the next delivery.
Amazon, DHL, Fed Ex, and UPS: these couriers do not have access to the USPS parcel locker, nor do they have access to your personal mailbox to leave a key for the locker. All packages are delivered in front of your building, sometimes your apartment door, but generally outside. The delivered items will remain outside of your building/doors until you collect them.
If your package ends up in the custody of our office, you will receive an email from us to collect the item(s) directly from our office. You will need a photo ID to collect your mail/packages. If your packages were marked as delivered, but you did not receive them, you will need to contact the courier company directly to file a claim. Be sure to have your tracking number available:
