Farewell to Paula!

It is with mixed emotions that we share the news of Paula Zipperer’s retirement. Paula was the Director of Eagle’s Wing Child Care & Education Programs, and officially retired Friday, September 27th.

Paula worked in Eagle’s Wing when it opened in 1992. Eagle’s Wing started out in two 2-bedroom apartments in Eagle Heights, and Paula was our first teacher in the “Nest Room.” In 1998, the center moved into its current space in the University Apartments Community Center. The center has continued to grow our programs, including the addition of our infant room in 2015, for a total of six full classrooms. Paula was been here for it all, in multiple roles, moving from teacher to Assistant Director, and was promoted to the Director position in 2017.

Eagle’s Wing is a high quality early childhood education center, and Paula helped us create, build, and grow this special place for the youngest children in our community. We will all miss her dedication to early childhood, this international community, residents, and our staff. I will miss her expertise, care, and sense of humor. We learned a lot about the early childhood profession from Paula. Thank you so much for all you have done for the thousands of children who have been taught in our center over the last 32 years. Your impact is immeasurable.
