Workday Cybersecurity Awareness Training

The Cybersecurity Awareness Training for employees became available on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

There are three training versions available:

  • Workday version
  • Accessible version in Canvas
  • Paper-based version for employees who do not use computers in their jobs or need a version in our six languages.

Workday has uploaded all employees hired through June 14, 2025. Any new employees hired beginning June 15, 2025 (and in the future), need to be assigned this training by either their manager or by a Learning Partner (HR). Once an employee is added to Workday, they will be notified by Workday when they are due to take their training.

Paper-Based Cybersecurity Awareness Training:

This training is for employees who do not use computers in their UW–Madison job and for employees who need language support. It is a shortened version of the required training that does not include a quiz. It is available in six languages.

  1. At request, HR representatives distribute printed copies of the paper-based training to employees who do not use computers in their UW–Madison job.
  2. Employees who receive this paper-based training read the information. (They can keep the printout for future reference or share with their families).
  3. Once employees are done reading, HR representatives confirm, verbally or in writing, that the employees agree to follow the Acceptable Use of Information policy.
  4. HR representations send the names and emails of the employees to the Cybersecurity Office.
