We’re committed to cultivating an environment that promotes the health, safety, and personal well-being of our community. We are only successful in achieving these goals with the direct support and help of residents.
Resident Expectations
Laundry Room Etiquette
The cost of laundry facilities is included in your monthly rent and therefore is only to be used by residents. Laundry use is permitted from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. In some buildings, neighbors get together to work out mutually agreeable laundry times or post a sign-up schedule. In other buildings, the machines are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Whatever the tradition is in your building, University Apartments staff (including Resident Managers) do not monitor or enforce laundry schedules. We encourage you to talk to your neighbors when there is a problem. If you have a concern about the use of your laundry room, contact your Resident Manager.
Actions of Dependents and Guests
Leaseholders are responsible for the actions and conduct of anyone who resides with them or is a guest in their apartment. You may have visitors for 30 days in a year. Do not give keys to visitors who should not have access to your apartment or the laundry areas or basements.
Harassment
Behavior that constitutes harassment is prohibited. Harassment is defined as verbal threats, intimidation, or conduct which tend to cause or incite a breach of the peace; or are severe or pervasive enough to substantially interfere with a reasonable resident’s educational performance.
Smoking
All apartments in University Apartments are smoke-free. Smoking is not allowed in any public area of any apartment building. Smoking must be at least 25 feet away from buildings. Do not throw cigarette butts on the ground.
Running On-site Business
You may charge a fee for providing child care or word processing services within your apartment. The operation of all other organized business on University premises is not allowed.
Parking
One assigned parking stall is included with Eagle Heights and University Houses apartments. Harvey Street resident parking is available for a monthly fee on a first come, first served basis. Additional parking stalls may be available for a monthly fee. Visitors must park in designated visitor parking stalls. Long-term (more than 48 hours) or regular visitors must have their vehicle registered with the University Apartment office.
