Tripp Residence Hall invites you to become a part of a tradition dating back to the 1920s, when students that lived here set a national standard for integrating academic life and social activities. Comprised of mostly single rooms, Tripp is a great option for first-year and non-freshman students wishing to have their own space, but also be a part of a tight-knit community. Tripp is also home to the Transfer House, a community specifically for transfer students. By living with other transfer students, we’ve seen that it can be easier to make social connections and get involved around campus.
Tripp’s backyard is one of the most scenic recreational areas on campus, offering lakefront views, a sand volleyball court, and large grassy spaces perfect for reading, playing frisbee, hanging out, or just relaxing. Tripp is located across the street from Carson’s Market (one of six dining markets on campus), and a block away from Steenbock Library and many academic buildings, which makes it a great location for all students. Built right along the Lakeshore Path, residents also have easy access to the Southeast Neighborhood, by either walking or biking eastbound down that path toward College Library and the Memorial Union.
