Welcome to Merit Hall

Thanks to a 2010 remodeling, residents of Merit Hall will enjoy improvements that offer added comfort for residents, including air conditioning, new bathrooms and new carpet in resident rooms. Each resident in Merit Hall also will have access to a newly remodeled kitchen, an excellent space for socializing with floormates and friends.

Fun, Flexibility, and Close Friendships

Merit Hall is a small community that allows students to benefit from the activities and services of the University Residence Halls while enjoying the increased independence and flexibility that comes with a single room or suite-style living.

This three-story building is nestled in the Southeast Neighborhood, near the SERF (Southeast Area Recreational Facility), and down the block from the Kohl Center and dining services venues in Gordon Commons.

The location is very convenient to University Square, which houses the University Health Services and many retailers. Residents of Merit Hall also appreciate the proximity to State Street, a well-known highlight of the city of Madison that features unique local shops and entertainment.
