Kronshage Residence Hall is the best of both worlds, in that it offers residents both a small and large community feel in its living environment. Broken up into eight houses of about 75 mostly-freshman residents each, students who live here have countless opportunities to meet people within and outside of their own houses all year long. With such a beautiful grassy area nestled right up to the shore of Lake Mendota, Kronshage is without a doubt the most inexpensive lakefront property you will ever live in during your lifetime. This is certainly an opportunity you will not want to miss out on. Resident rooms in Kronshage have updated furniture and built-in dressers for plenty of storage space.
The Kronshage community is a favorite of many student athletes pursuing the rowing teams or any sort of running-based sport, as it is located right next door to the Porter Boathouse and right along the Lakeshore Path (which is a quick connection to the Southeast neighborhood by foot or bicycle). Kronshage residents are also near both Carson’s Market and the Four Lakes Market (two of six dining markets on campus), which provide many dining options throughout the week. Additionally, residents will find that they are in close proximity to the engineering campus and Camp Randall Stadium, which makes for quick commutes on football Saturdays.
